Role of Physiotherapy in Women’s Health
Women’s health physiotherapy primarily focuses on rehabilitation of the pelvic floor. On your first visit your physiotherapist will take a detailed history to understand your problem and the goals you want to achieve. A thorough internal assessment (if required) of the pelvic floor and pelvic organs will be performed to make a diagnosis. After diagnosis your physiotherapist will give you a detailed explanation of your condition and develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals.
You may have issues with your pelvic health if you find yourself having leakage or an urgent desire to urinate, pain or pressure in the pelvic region, or constipation.
